Living Legend

Diane von Furstenberg is a designer who makes clothes for women. And our ladies love her for it. 

The Wrap Dress is Diane's most iconic design. She repeats it every season in different colors and patterns. You will almost always find The Wrap Dress in stock at Uniquities! This style just came in. Available at North Hills (919-785-3385).

The Bentley was a best selling style for DVF this past Fall. For Resort, they switched the fabric into a cotton jersey, making it a luxurious LBD that is sure to fit and flatter many! Available at Cameron Village (919-832-1234).

That someone special...

Dreaming of...Rebecca Taylor

Before I started working for Uniquities, I never paid Rebecca Taylor much attention. I don't even know why. And then I started to see her styles start to come through the buying office. And then I realized how beautiful her clothes were and how they are so feminine yet strong--perfect for Uniquities. 

Fast forward to yesterday when Taylor's Holiday delivery came in. Per usual, our jaws dropped and I was immediately dreaming of my favorite customers and who would be perfect for which piece.

I mostly can't get enough orange, so this dress is in my wheelhouse! This is going to be perfect for a stand-out-in-the-crowd Holiday party look--throw on a bunch of House of Harlow bangles, and BAM. This shade of persimmon is going to be really amazing in the spring when this color will be everywhere again.

This silk crepe tee may not look like much in the picture, but it is divine. I say pair it with your black coated skinnies and this MAJOR black gabardine and LEATHER jacket from Parker that also just came in. This is a piece you will probably end up wearing with everything.

My last favorite is this python-print sheath dress. I didn't realize it until just now, but this delivery is full of investment pieces. Seriously, everything is something you can wear now and forever. Thankfully, python and snake print are not going anywhere for a while. And this dress is a perfect silhouette for all sorts of things. 

Anyway, I really love this collection. And now I always look forward to a Rebecca Taylor box!

Shawlsmith London!

We are happy to announce that we will be hosting a Shawlsmith London trunk show this week! As part of Cameron Village's Open House on November 15, we will be bringing in Shawlsmith's luxurious wraps, scarves, and shawls--made in beautiful cashmere, silks, and wools. 

Our trunk show will begin at 4pm and go throughout the evening! Come and enjoy all the festivities at Cameron Village!

The Holidays are coming

Relaxed and refined!

Looking for the perfect leather jacket? We just got in the most amazing jackets from Doma--a leather company that specializes in timeless but fashion-forward leather jackets. 

I met Whitney Port back in September at the Coterie show in New York. She's a fan of Doma, too! We're carrying her fave, the Moto Jacket! It comes with a detachable hood that can take you from relaxed to refined with a flip of the zip. 

The second style we just got in is the Hidden Access. With a luxurious collar that will protect your neck and keep you chic, this dulce-colored leather will only get better over time. And the bird lining is super cute!

We just got in the most beautiful silver jewelry from Canadian designer Hilary Druxman! Her collection is a nice compliment to what we already feature in our jewelry case. And you may find that she is going to fill in some needs of your own jewelry box! Hilary Druxman is now in all locations.

Set your style a-blazer

Sometimes we forget how put together we can feel when we put on a blazer. One of my friends was just saying last week that no matter what she has on underneath, as long as she has on her blazer she feels put together and powerful. A blazer is more dressed up than a cardigan, but can also be less formal when paired with denim. The blazer can be the new cardigan--wear it with everything and see how you feel!

I am a sucker for a great handbag and the ones we just received from Rebecca Minkoff are on-point. The hardware, the leather, and the beautiful colors make Minkoff's bags extremely coveted. Minkoff's designs are a dose of uptown elegance with a dash of downtown edge.

One of our favorite beauty brands is EOS--The Evolution of Smooth! It didn't start until a couple years ago, but every year around this time I found myself with dry dry dry hands. And who doesn't get dried lips this time of year, too? Look no further, y'all. EOS does not disappoint. 

With cute packaging (it's a little egg!) that I love to pull out of my bag and with flavors that make me smile, EOS is so good. 

Barbour Beauties!

When we got our first shipment of Barbour coats in, I didn't expect them to fly out so quickly! The women of the Triangle are dying for the jackets and we can't get them in quick enough! Our selection ranges from the classic Beadnell to the motorcycle-inspired International Speedway--timeless styles to invest in now and wear forever.

 The brand has been around since 1894. The waxed coating on our favorites didn't come around until 1910. And I'd say that within the last ten years or so Barbour has seen a major fashion comeback, from being something you wear when the weather is terrible to something you wear to show you know insider fashion knowledge! Classic styling that will never let you down.

I was working at our North Hills store last week and the minute Melissa walked in, I knew I had to snap her picture for our blog! She looked amazing. Her outfit is muted, so it's all about the jewels. And they don't overwhelm her. Stop by North Hills and let Melissa and the rest of the staff show you how to get just-the-right look! Phenomenal Fall

When we took this picture, it wasn't quite Fall. But now that it's cooled down some, it is time to think about how we'll dress for the cooler weather. Taylor Brown, UNC medical student, is pitch perfect for October's weather. Great colors. The little touches, the necklace and belt, give her a look that stands out in a beautiful way. And her smile is amazing!

Peach Perfect

Jessica O'Brien, UNC Senior, was caught off guard by our street style team. She was in a hurry but was kind enough to stop for a second to talk to us. Thanks Jessica! Her accessories make this outfit. Great colors and worn-in denim shorts make it easy. The top knot and wayfarers show she's in the know. She just looks so...cool. And that is what we need with all this steamy weather!

Fresh and minty

The truth: it was the pants that caught us! Mint is a color that has been everywhere since the Spring. Sarah Lust shows us how we can transition some of our summer wardrobe into a look that works for right now. And let's be honest, with today's gray weather, we need as much punchy color to wake us up this Monday morning. 

Chic, with a capital C

These ladies understand the necessity that is an accessory! RaShawnda Murphy, right, and Tiara Fennell, left, caught my eye because they looked incredible among the sea of gym clothes on UNC's campus. A little pop of color here, a little dash of gold there. Their looks are also inspiring for the crazy weather we've been having--all about transition. Carry on, ladies.

This case is so clutch

When I first saw this leather iPhone clutch, I knew we had to have it in our stores. It comes from Incase, who we've carried in the past and we continue to bring in new styles that fit us. But something about this one screamed, "This is what every chic woman in 2012 needs on the go". And it showed up a week later.

Throw it in your tote, grab it for a night out--it will become the thing you bring everywhere. Minimalism never looked so good.

We're offering it in metallic gold (one of the shades of the accessory season) and black patent leather. Currently available in all stores, this look won't last long if you are already buying your key pieces for fall.

Quick update!

Our Chapel Hill store was voted the Best Boutique in Chapel Hill by the readers of Chapel Hill Magazine! Thank you thank you, Chapel Hill!

Our new collection is starting to show up in our shops now. We are getting new fits and washes in some of your favorite denim brands--think 7 For All Mankind, Citizens of Humanity and Paige Denim (with more to come). They're already flying out of our denim wall!

The ankle length is the shape of the season--a must have for every woman. This is 7 for All Mankind's Slim Cigarette. LOVE! (There's a metallic gold pair that will only be in Cameron Village by Saturday morning--one of each size from 25-29...MAJOR!)

But we're still thinking about surviving this heat! The Amanda Uprichard Pocket Top is what we've been pairing with our denim when we're going out this summer.

Summer Dress-ing

The item in our closet we've been reaching for everyday of the past few weeks have been our dresses! It's been so hot here in North Carolina that we grab a dress, our bag and a bottle of water before we leave the house each morning. Staying cool and staying hydrated!

It's Monday. And it's always difficult to get out of the sleepiness of the weekend and back into our regular routine. We know it's always tough to put together an outfit on a Monday when all we can think about is getting back in bed!
